How does my donation contribute?
Donations will go directly into the manufacturing of the desks and easels for the art classroom. Your donation not only provides desks and easels for children but is also giving back to the local community since our manufacturer is located in Malawi, allowing us to support the local economy. Donations will go to art supplies to fill the classroom in Dzaleka with paint, brushes, canvas, and paper, as well.
Who will my donation help?
Your donation will help the children at the refugee camp and support the local community. The kids at the refugee camp face extreme conditions and any type of hope we can give them is extremely valuable. By providing them with a space for creativity, they are able to express themselves and find hope and opportunity amidst daily stresses. Art is such an important resource that all kids should be able to have access too, and by donating today you can help give a child the gift of art.
Why is support needed right now
The Dzaleka refugee camp is managed by the Malawi government under its encampment policy. In 2025, the camp received only 22% of the funding it needed after the UNHCR lost much of its support. With the UNHCR stepping back, Dzaleka faces severe shortages, leaving refugees vulnerable. Programs that give children a chance to express themselves through art are vital, offering hope and a small light in the difficult conditions of the camp.
